Female or Male Threaded Tubing Insert

These are threaded inserts designed to be installed into our round tubing. These feature an all metal construction and a circle fin shape. They're designed to go in and have the fins dig into the tube to help keep them in place.

These are sold as sets of Female Threaded Tubing Inserts or as Male Threaded Tubing Inserts, with the two types sold separately. Male threads are all 1-1/4" Long before being installed into connector, useful length will be shorter and will vary my connector size.

The sizes listed are the Testrite tubing sizes Outside Diameter (OD) that the tube connecting nuts are tested to work with. We specialize in threaded tubing connectors  

These parts are sold in sets of 10 and they are bulk packed. Orders of quantities may all be shipped in one bag or box to minimize packaging waste (e.g. ordering qty 10 we would supply 1 bag or box of 100 pcs).

These threaded tubing inserts are offered in a variety of size and enable adding a female or male thread to the end of your round tube, whether the tube is aluminum or steel. We offer threaded tubing connectors in versions for 8-32 thread, 1/4-20 thread, 5/16-18 thread and 3/8-16 thread in sizes including 5/8" diameter, 3/4" diameter, 7/8" diameter, 1" diameter, 1-1/8" diameter, 1-1/4" diameter, 1-3/8" diameter, and 1-1/2" diameter. Note we do not stock every thread size for every diameter, just those listed.

Be aware, these parts are sold a la carte. They do NOT include installation. You would need to install these yourself in your own tubing assembly. There are a variety of ways to install these. Most importantly, be careful not to hurt yourself or others.

If you want 1/4-20 threaded tubing inserts, 8-32 threaded tubing inserts, 5/16-18 threaded tubing inserts, or 3/8-16 threaded tubing inserts, all designed for a press fit, you may have found the right place! Use with Testrite Aluminum tubing in the diameters listed, or use these as threaded pipe inserts though you'll need to confirm which threaded inserts work with which pipe size. Note all our tubing sizes are nominal sizes, so an insert for a 1" tube works with a 1" x .038" wall tube which has an ID of 1" - .038" -.038" = 0.924", though the flexibility of the fins enable these to work in a nice range of tube sizes or tube and pipe wall thickness.

1. What is a Female or Male Threaded Tubing Insert?
These are metal inserts designed to be press-fit into round tubing so you can add a female or male threaded connection to the end of your tube. The fins bite into the inside of the tube to help keep the insert securely in place. These threaded inserts allow adding a male or female thread to an existing aluminum or steel tube.

2. What tubing do these threaded inserts work with?
These inserts are designed for Testrite round tubing in the listed outside diameters (OD). They can be used with aluminum or steel tubes, and the fin design allows them to work with a range of wall thicknesses.

3. What thread sizes and tube diameters are available?
We offer threaded tubing inserts in 8-32, 1/4-20, 5/16-18, and 3/8-16 thread sizes for tube diameters including 5/8", 3/4", 7/8", 1", 1-1/8", 1-1/4", 1-3/8", and 1-1/2". Not every thread size is available for every diameter—only the combinations shown in the size selector.

4. What is the difference between Female and Male inserts?
Female threaded tubing inserts provide an internal thread inside the tube to receive a male screw. Male threaded tubing inserts provide an external male threaded stud that extends beyond the end of the tube. Male threads are approximately 1-1/4" long before installation (usable length will be shorter once installed).

5. How are these inserts sold?
These threaded tubing inserts are sold in bulk-packed sets of 10. For larger orders, quantities may be combined into a single bag or box to reduce packaging waste (for example, ordering a quantity of 10 sets may be shipped as one bag of 100 pieces).

6. Is installation included with the threaded inserts?
No. These parts are sold a la carte and do not include installation. You will need to install them yourself in your own tubing assembly using your preferred method. Always use proper tools and safety precautions during installation.
